Hikkaduwa has been just what the doctor ordered! Sri Lanka is beautiful, miles and miles of incredible sandy, palm-tree fringed, beaches, friendly people and great (non-spicy, yippee!) food. We've done pretty much absolutely nothing so a very short blog this time! We've slept loads, lazed about on the beach and at the hotel, read our books, written our diaries and walked into town along the beach a couple of times. It's been great!
It's completely off-season here (the monsoon means the sea is too rough to swim but we've been paddling and had only one storm, luckily at night!) and so we're the only people staying at our hotel! Has been really peaceful and the break has been bliss. Feel completly relaxed and really looking forward to "hitting the road" again. We fly to Bangkok on Sunday morning so more from Thailand soon.

Greetings from Exeter from dkins, mumps, unc dave & auntie K. Very similar here to Thailand, even down to the heavy rain & thundestorms (NOT predicted by the good 'ol Met Office !!). Hope all's well. Take care.
Hi guys! Sounds very relaxed. In Germany the weather is similar to the football of the national team: wonderful!!! It's amazing whats going on here with the people during this world cup. Everybody (of course we too) hangs the german flag out of the window and almost every car is decorated in black red and gold. I`m gonna watch the half final at a public viewing area in the city and hope it'll be fun. Hopefully we'llmake to the final!!! Take care and we miss u! Tanja and melanie
