Suzi 03/11/06

Went to see Iguaçu Falls from the Brazilian side today. We enjoyed absolutely amazing panoramic views of the waterfalls from the park but, overall, the experience from the Argentinian side is better. You can get much closer to the falls and there are different walks, whereas there is just one walk included in the entrance ticket from Foz do Iguaçu. However, you get a much better overall view of the falls from the Brazilian side and so can really appreciate their size (and the number of different waterfalls making up the whole!). It was disapointing compared to the Argentinian side but the views were great so we were pleased we went.

The weather was also kinder to us today so we got some great photos and, even more excitingly (if that is indeed a word!!), I got interviewed by Paraguayan TV!! They were filming a feature on whether tourists go over the border to shop in Paraguay duty free and Thorsten volunteered me when the lady stopped us and asked if she could speak with us!! Don´t think it will lead to national fame and fortune (particularly as had to confess we haven´t been over the border to shop duty free as we have no money left!!) but made the visit that little bit more memorable.

We get a free dinner included with our room price as a special offer this weekend (as it is a Brazilian national holiday!) so off to tuck in to the buffet now - last night we ate so much we could hardly get up 3 flights of stairs to our room so definately getting our money´s worth! Off to Rio tomorrow.
