Safely arrived in Krakow after catching the night train from Berlin. Learnt from the serious cricks in our neck after seats on the night train to Bergen that it's much better to book a sleeper so have actually enjoyed about 8 hours sleep, only interrupted by German and Polish border guards wanting to see our passports at about 1am! Thorsten will update you on the birthday party but, needless to say, it was brilliant fun and we had a great time in Berlin. I felt a bit sad saying goodbye to our family and friends as, whilst we had said goodbye before, that time we knew we would see each other 3 weeks later, this time its almost 7 months to go! Time is whizzing by though so will see you soon.
Denmark was great and Copenhagen is a fantastic city to visit. Overall I preferred Aarhus as it had much more character but there was so much to see in Copenhagen. We of course visited the Little Mermaid (with an impromptu harbour tour on the way from the conductor on our waterbus!!) but also visited the National Museum, the Glypotek and the Carlsberg Brewery. You get two free beers at the end of the brewery tour so we enjoyed those and stumbled back to the bus after trying the 8% special edition coffee and mint stout on an empty stomach!! We also walked around loads to enjoy the architecture of the city and it was really nice to just soak up the atmosphere. The city was not bombed during WWII and you really notice the difference in the older parts. Really enjoyed it but went well over budget so will try to be a bit more controlled in Poland!!
